| How Gospel Review was Founded
Gospel Review comes to you from beautiful Santee, located in Southern California. Jim Burnett, our general manager and producer, formed Gospel Review in 1998 after a church in need of some special music and a guest speaker approached him. Jim pulled together a few musicians, singers and a guest speaker, did a few evenings of practice and off we went to the church in need. We ended up doing the whole service and had a great time. As some of us talked it over and prayed about it we decided to start a group and travel around to local churches and venues in need. Over the years we have gone from doing 5 or 6 concerts a year to presently around 25 to 30 a year. Over the years God has blessed us with different musicians and vocals. The only remaining original members are Nancy on piano, John on drums and Linda on vocals along with Jim and Buddy on the technical end of things. Five years ago Mark came on as a new vocalist and four years ago Big Don T arrived with a new sound with his Rolls Royce Yamaha keyboard and he also is a vocalist. Two years ago Darren came aboard and he plays the seven string bass, that's correct, seven strings I counted them. We have gone with a trio style of group with a little different vocal presentation with one female and two male singers. Linda generally takes the lead vocal part with Mark and Don carrying the tenor and baritone parts. With the new songs we have added and the old ones revamped Gospel Review definitely has a new unique sound. So if you have enjoyed us in the past make sure you come check us out this year. God has blessed our group so much over the years not only with talent but places to minister. On June 2nd, 2007 we released our first CD titled "The Long Journey" and that it has been.
Style of Music
Our style of music has a country gospel rock feel to it with Southern Gospel roots. Some have said we have created our own style. We do a wide variety of gospel music and songs from a lot of different artists and also have some music that our own musicians and singers have written.
Linda Lee Burnett
Linda stared singing solo concerts when a church called at a last minutes notice needing some special music. The Vocal Band was unavailable at the time so they asked if Linda could do it herself. She felt that God was opening a door and after some prayer she decided to take that "Step of Faith" and sing for the church in need. Since then Linda has also been doing solo concerts whenever called upon. She has recorded two CD's. Her first CD is titled "A Step of Faith" and her newest CD is titled "Promises". You can visit here website at www.lindaleeburnett.com for more information about her solo ministry.
